A Unique Employer
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) are predominately an armed police service dedicated to the nuclear industry with Operational and Support Units based at Nuclear Sites in England, Scotland and Wales. Integral to the CNC is a close working partnership with both the Home Office and Scottish Police forces at each location.
Policing requirements at each nuclear site are agreed with the respective nuclear operators in accordance with the Nuclear Industries Security Regulations (NISR) and approved by the Nuclear Industries Security Regulations (NISR).

Vision Statement
The Civil Nuclear Police Authority's vision is for the Constabulary to provide a world-class service for the protection of nuclear materials and facilities.
Mission Statement
To defend and protect those sites to which it is deployed, with a view to denying unauthorised access to nuclear material and, if necessary, recover control of any nuclear material which may have been lost to any unauthorised persons.
